When did you first get involved with track and field? How long have you been running:
I first got involved with track and field my sophomore year. After having a decent cross country season I wanted to see how I could do.
What is a typical training week like for you?
I try to get in a healthy amount of miles with some speed work mixed in.
What are your goals for the upcoming track season?
I want to stay healthy, achieve good PR's and put myself in good position at State.
How do you prepare yourself mentally for a race? Do you have any superstitions?
I think about my races well before they happen to get excited and ready for them. I also have a lot of superstitions -- one of which is not to talk about my superstitions.
What does your season look like and will you be competing in any out of state track meets during the season or post high school season?
I will be attending the Desert Classic, Chandler Rotary, Barwick, Scottsdale Distance Classic, Hohokam, and the Southeast Valley Invite. I’m also going to try to compete at Arcadia this year.
What message would you tell younger runners who aspire to be at the top?
Learn to love running.
If you had to attribute your success to one thing, what would it be?
My coaches definitely have allowed me to achieve PR’s
How many events do you compete in and which event is your favorite?
I will compete in the 4x800, 800, 1600, and 3200 and the 3200 is my favorite by far.
