When did you first get involved with track and field? How long have you been running:
I first got involved in Track when I was in Jr. High. I have been running since I was in sixth grade.
What is a typical training week like for you?
A typical training week is hill running on Monday at Freestone and easy and hard workouts throughout the week.
What are your goals for the upcoming track season?
I want to improve every race I compete in, stay healthy, and break the mile and 2 mile records for my school.
How do you prepare yourself mentally for a race? Do you have any superstitions?
I would go over the race plan in my head while warming up and stretching to I can be prepared to hit my splits. The only superstitious habit I have is that the night before a meet I wear my track shirt for extra luck.
What does your season look like and will you be competing in any out of state track meets during the season or post high school season?
I competed at the North Canyon Invite, Chandler Rotary, Basha Relays and Brophy Invite and I will be competing at Sun Angel, Hohokam, and South East Valley Championships.
What message would you tell younger runners who aspire to be at the top?
Go 100% at any race you compete in and have fun.
If you had to attribute your success to one thing, what would it be?
I owe it to my coaches for pushing me at practice and improving my times and my friends and family for the support.
How many events do you compete in and which event is your favorite?
4x800m, 1600m, and 3200m. By far my favorite event is 3200m.
What are 3 things we don't know about you?
1. I play the alto saxophone
2. Besides running, my favorite sprot to watch/play is baseball
3. I have 2 pets, a tortoise named Perrywinkle and an albino corn snake named Maxx
