*Win state individually and as a team
*Have fun
How is your summer training going? Your favorite workout? What kind of summer mileage do you run?
My summer training has been going well and no injuries thank God! My favorite workouts are hill sprints and 400m intervals. Hill sprints are great for building speed, strength, and preparing you for that Arizona state course that is full of hills. I typically run between 35-40 miles a week.
Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?
I try to hit the gym 2-3 times a week.
Do you follow any kind of nutrition program or watch what you eat?
I’m not on any specific nutrition program but I am very conscientious on what I put into my body. Every time I eat or drinking something I say to myself “Will this help or hurt my running”?
Have you ever been injured?
Yes I have experienced a bunch minor injuries but nothing that has put me out for multiple months.
So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?
My favorite memory in my cross country career was taking home the Division 2 State Team title last season and placing sixth in the state individually.
What is the best part of running?
The best part of running is the sense of accomplishment you feel when finishing a race or finishing a run. Not a lot of people can say they run 30 plus miles a week.
Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?
*Winning the Division 2 state title in the 800m
When you are not running what do you like to do?
When I’m not running I usually like to catch up on homework, hangout with friends and sleep.
How have your coaches influenced you overall?
Without my coaches I wouldn’t be where I am today in my running career. My head coach Adam Colombo has taught me to trust the training plan which is important as a student of the sport. I have learned to run uncomfortable and to not hold anything back.
Shout outs?
I like to make a shutout to my best friend Harvey Nelson as he begins his first year as an NCAA Division 1 athlete at NAU. I wish you success bud I know you will do great things!
