Tiana Poirier-Shelton: Arizona Girls Jumper of the Year

          Tiana opened her season at the Richard Thompson Classic placing 3rd in the Long Jump. At the Chandler Rotary Invitational, she placed 6th in the Long Jump with a mark of 17-05.25. Then, she broke the 40-foot barrier with a lifetime best of 40-03.5 to place 3rd in the Triple Jump. Two weeks later, at the Arcadia Invitational she finished 7th with a mark of 39 feet. Tiana concluded her regular season at the AIA State Championships this past May. First on Day 1, she won her 2nd consecutive State Title in the Triple Jump with her second-best jump in her career of 40-01.5. Then on Saturday, she took 3rd place with a personal best of 19-03 in the Long Jump.

          Honorable Mentions:

          • Jai Gruenwald (Chandler, Jr.) was the top Long Jumper in the State by over six inches this season. She won her third consecutive Division 1 Long Jump State Title. At Great Southwest, she took 2nd place with a lifetime best of 19-11.25.
          • Jadyn Mays (North Canyon, Fr.) was the State's leader in the Girls Long Jump for most of the season, after jumping 19-05 at the Brophy AMDG Invitational. She finished 3rd in the Long Jump at Chandler Rotary and took home her first State Title after jumping 19-01.75 at the Division 2 State Championships.
          • Brittany Patterson (Mountain Pointe, Sr.) finished runner-up in the D1 Triple Jump at the Track and Field State Championships. At the Great Southwest Outdoor Classic, Brittany Patterson jumped 40-05 clearing 40 feet for the Triple Jump for the first time and topping the Triple Jump leaderboard.
          • Quintella Johnson (St. Mary's Catholic, Sr.) was tied for the season's best High Jumper in Arizona. She ended her High School career with a Division III High Jump State Title.
