Now that some schools have been rearranged, many of the preseason predictions are obsolete. Here is an early look at our updated rankings for Division 1 boys. The Division 1 Section 1 Championship race at Crossroads Park came down to sophomores Sammy Van Alstine of Desert Vista and Leo Daschbach of Highland giving us a preview of another big rivalry to dominate the headlines over the next few years. While Sammy held off Leo at Sectionals, the following week Leo took the win at State in 15:52.8. Imagine what times we could see from these two pushing each other to the line over the next two years.
