Arizona high school track and field athletes posted several personal bests and school records at the AIA Track and Field State Championships on May 15.
Amiyah Williams (Agua Fria) cleared 5-5 in the high jump, improving from her previous best of 5-2 set in May 2026. The mark set a school record and moved her to #10 in the state rankings. Williams placed 4th of 20 competitors.
Trenton Busher-Stanislas (Desert Vista) threw 178-5 in the discus, bettering his previous mark of 170-6 from May 2026. The senior won the event and ranks #5 in Arizona and #4 among senior competitors.
Ramell Bonilla (Hamilton) jumped 6-4 in the high jump, adding two inches to his previous best of 6-2 from May 2026. The junior placed 7th and ranks #13 in the state and #4 among juniors.
Nicole Ripperdan (Queen Creek) ran 2:06.05 in the 800 meters, improving from her previous best of 2:09.01. The time set a school record and moved her to #1 in Arizona. Ripperdan won the event.
Natalia Morris (Highland) posted 10:53.88 in the 3200 meters, improving from her previous mark of 11:03.72 set in May 2026. The sophomore placed 5th and ranks #7 in Arizona and #2 among sophomores.
Cristiano Morales (Salpointe Catholic) ran 47.01 in the 400 meters, improving from his previous best of 47.68. The senior won the event and set a school record while moving to #1 in Arizona.
Matthew Heitz (Red Mountain) ran 14.39 in the 110-meter hurdles, bettering his previous mark of 14.65. The senior placed 7th and ranks #10 in Arizona and #6 among seniors.
