What are your goals for the upcoming season:

My goal for this upcoming season is to come back from the stress reaction in my shin and finish in the top 10 for state.

 

 

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

My summer training consisted of swimming and biking. My injury restricted me from running so I had to cross train.


 

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I have been running since 3rd grade. I started training with my dad because I wanted to win the annual "Turkey Trot" that my elementary school put on around Thanksgiving. I did 5Ks up until middle school when I joined the school team.


 

Will you be competing out of State this season?  If so, when and where?

I will be competing out of state this year. My team takes a trip to California every year for the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic in Costa Mesa, California on September 15th.


 

What are your favorite courses and the toughest courses to run in State and out of State.

My favorite course in state is Doug Conley. Out of state is Woodbridge.

The toughest course to run in state for me is the state course.

 

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

My favorite cross country memory is the first week of summer training every year. We have spirit week where each day has a theme. It is a really fun way to start out the summer.


 

When you are not running what do you like to do?

When I am not running I like to lifeguard and hang out with my friends.

 

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I cross train. I try and swim every day. I am also on a weight training program  with the strength coach at Desert Vista.

 

Do you think you would like to run competitively after high school?

I would love to have the opportunity to run collegiately after high school.

 

What were your favorite Olympic sports and did they inspire you in any way?

My favorite event from the Olympics was the 800. That race gave me goose bumps.  It inspired me to work on my foot speed.
