What are your goals for the upcoming season:

I have lots of personal goals this year, especially because it’s my senior year, but I’ll be happy with the season if I get to see our guys team work hard all season and really have it show at state.

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

My training has been going really well, I have especially been enjoying some of my long runs.  My mileage varies from 40 up to 55.

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

A friend convinced me to join Cross Country my freshman year

Will you be competing out of State this season?  If so, when and where?

I might be running at Footlocker West.

What are your favorite courses and the toughest courses to run in State and out of State.

I love running on our home course because of all of the memories, and because it is a great way to track progress from year to year.  The toughest course is definitely the course we run at Sectionals, at the dump by O’Connor.

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

Every team dinner that I’ve gone to.

When you are not running what do you like to do?

I enjoy my music, movies, and just hanging with friends.

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I’ve never been a big swimmer or biker, but we started lifting a bit over the summer, on top of the core work that our team normally does.

Do you think you would like to run competitively after high school?

Definitely.

What were your favorite Olympic sports and did they inspire you in any way?

All of the distance races were phenomenal to watch, they were a huge inspiration.

Quick Six:

Favorite Pre-race Meal?

I don’t stick to a strict routine on this one, but it is usually oatmeal or toast and some kind of fruit.

Kind of shoes you train in?

Brooks Adrenaline

Favorite athlete (running or otherwise)?

Kurt Warner.  He’s a great athlete and role model, it was my pleasure to cheer for him in St. Louis and here in Arizona.

Favorite TV show or movie?

The Office.

Favorite song?

I don’t think I can pick a favorite, but The Distance by Cake is a pretty good go-to, especially to get pumped for a race.

Favorite quote?

“If you will it, it is no dream.”
