Once again Desert Vista High School was named the Nike Web National Champions scoring 8430 points, 323 points more than second place Los Gatos High School in California and 113 points more that they scored last year. “It is a great honor to be recognized as the NWN Champions for the 2nd year in a row, " stated DV Head Coaches Chris Hanson and Ryan Stanely. " We are humbly grateful for this award to be bestowed as we know that there were many highly competitive teams in the running. We feel extremely blessed to have such a great group of high character young men, a supportive administration, and what we feel are some the best event coaches from across the nation! We truly felt that our depth and balance was key in making a strong push for the title. For all their hard work Nike will be throwing a party for the Desert Vista track team and Bernard Lagat, who won the 1500 in the Olympic Trials, will be on hand to preset the award.
