Despite the cancellation of the 2020 outdoor track season, several of the top Division 3 boys from the 2020 season return to compete in 2021, with their eyes set on winning a state championship.

Cj Scrivner from Safford returns this season with the fastest 100m time in Division 3. Not only will Scrivner be a name to watch in Arizona, but he will also have eyes around the country on him. Scrivner finished last season as a US No. 3 in the event and will be the second-fastest returner in the country. Scrivner will be the clear favorite to win the state championship in the event.

The two hurdle events will be hotly contested in 2021, especially with its top three performers returning in both. In addition to Scrivner, Kawai King and Logan Hubler from American Leadership Academy (Queen Creek) return in 2021.

Sweet competed in the AIA state meet in 2019 as a freshman and finished 5th. In 2020, Sweet won the Arizona Small School Invite in the javelin throw as well, where he threw 167-6 feet.

The pole vault is sure to be one of the most competitive events for Division 3 boys.
