Carl Hayden Community senior Alexis Zazueta (right) in the Division II boys race at the 2021 AIA State Cross Country Championships at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix. Zazueta ran 17:42.80 to place 56th at last year's state meet for cross country, but only competed in one meet on the track during the spring. He comes into the 2022 cross country season the second ranked athlete in the Division II Metro section for 5,000 meters with his personal best of 17:08.30.
