Valley Christian senior Lauren Ping (left) finishes ahead of Salpointe Catholic senior Kylie Wild in the small girls race at the Fountain Hills Invitational at Fountain Hills Park in Fountain Hills. Ping ran the 5,000-meter course in 17:58.51 compared to Wild's 17:59.90, the second and third-fastest times, respectively, in the state from the second weekend of the season.
