Desert Vista senior Bailee Christofis in the Division I girls race at the 2021 AIA State Cross Country Championships at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix. Christofis finished in sixth place at last year's state meet for cross country. She didn't race on the track during the spring, but still comes into the 2022 cross country season as the top returning athlete in the Division I Southeast section with her 5,000-meter time of 18:18.90.
