Weekend Round-Up Week 5: Boys

Chandler senior Andereya Nsubuga (left) in the elite 100m at the Nike Chandler Rotary Invitational this past weekend at Chandler High School in Chandler. Nsubuga won the race in a lifetime best of 10.62 (+0.1). That time leads all Arizona athletes in the event at the moment.

With it being the week of the Nike Chandler Rotary Invitational, Arizona's top runners, jumpers, vaulters and throwers turned out as Red Mountain junior Tyler Mathews ran a personal best for a US No. 5 time in the 800m at 1:51.14 and Prescott senior Jack Mason extended his state lead in the triple jump with his mark of 46-2.5
