What are your goals for the upcoming season:
My goal for the upcoming season is to improve my previous 5K and 3 mile times as much as possible. Also, I hope that I can contribute in any way to help my team succeed.
How is your summer training going? Your favorite workout? What kind of summer mileage do you run?
I feel that the summer training is going well. Everyone on the team is working hard towards making their season great. My favorite workout is anything that involves hills. As for our mileage we usually run on minutes, but if I calculate it correctly, we probably run around fifty miles a week.
How long have you been running and how did you get started:
I have been running for eight years. I began when I joined club track.
Which meets will you be running this year?
I think that the team will be running almost all of the meets offered in Arizona.
What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?
My favorite meet to run in State would have to be Doug Conley, because it has a lot of variety with hills. The toughest course for me is Twilight. Many of my teammates have mastered this race, but I cannot seem to get the hang of it. My favorite race out of State, which is both tough and enjoyable, is Mt. Sac. It is an all around great race with the challenge of hills, and a really competitive atmosphere.

Training this summer went very well! Despite the heat and humidity, the team and I were able to toughen up and run strong when we needed to, and also relax on certain days as well. My favorite workout is anything with long tempo running. Oddly enough, I enjoy mile repeats! This summer, we ran a lot of volume, but kept the runs controlled and didn’t push ourselves too hard.
How long have you been running and how did you get started:
I started running with my dad when I was in the sixth grade. After that, I joined the cross-country team at my middle school where I made many great friends and really started to enjoy running!

Summer training has actually been going really well, not only for me but for my team. I’m excited to see how the season goes because we have all worked really hard. We have gotten very serious about all the supplementary workouts. My favorite workout would have to either be the easy days were the team is relaxed and we talk the entire time or the Saturday long runs because you just feel so accomplished after.
How long have you been running and how did you get started:
I’ve been running for 5½ years. I got started in 7th grade when I went out for the track team and my coach then told me about her club team. So I quit gymnastics and joined the club team.
